Seyed Hossein Hashemi (born 1965, Babol) is an Associate professor of MU’s Department of Law. He received a Bachelor's degree in "Law" in 1995, a Master's degree in "Criminal Law and Criminology" from Mofid University in 2000, and a PhD in "Criminal Law and Criminology" from the University of Tehran in 2009. He has also studied seminary courses since 1984 and participated in the courses of Advanced Islamic Jurisprudence and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Kharej-e Fiqh and Usul) for many years.
Among his honors are being selected as the distinguished researcher by the Congress of Religious Studies in the fifth ceremony of honoring the top researchers in the field of religion by the Ministry of Islamic Guidance in 2003 , and the distinguished researcher of the year by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (in Research Week) in 2002.
